Model of Care
Springs treats adults with addiction issues through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in conjunction with COGNIT, an internet based
e-learning and continuous recovery management tracking system. This high-tech education and recovery management system provides a patient
and family 24-hour access to education and relapse prevention support tools.
The four stages of our addiction treatment services are as follows:
Detoxification, Psychiatric Stabilization and Assessment
Staff physicians provide a medical history and physical examination, comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, and medication
recommendations. Clinical staff provide a biopsychosocial assessment including substance use and mental health history, physical health
status, family background, environmental factors, social functioning, nutritional needs, legal history, occupational history, and
spirituality issues. Our program includes 24-hour nursing and physician and/or nurse practitioner supervision for patient safety in
establishing sobriety and mental stability.
Treatment Planning and Recommendations
Under the leadership of the attending psychiatrist and/or nurse practitioner, the multidisciplinary treatment team works with the
patient to develop a treatment plan to achieve and maintain sobriety and mental wellness. The treatment plan identifies primary
diagnosis and secondary diagnosis with treatment goals, objectives, and a timeline for completion.
Includes daily treatment sessions with the attending psychiatrist and/or nurse practitioner. Program components include cognitive
behavioral therapy, denial management counseling, relapse prevention counseling, and/or relapse prevention therapy. These treatment
services are designed to assist the patient in learning how to manage denial factors that lead to relapse, and daily sober living
skills that help prevent relapse.
Discharge and Continuing Care Planning
The treatment team works with the patient and significant others to determine the next step in the recovery process that will provide
ongoing support and reinforcement. Continuing care options include a partial hospitalization program, intensive outpatient program,
outpatient anti-craving medication management, individual therapy, family therapy, 12-step programs, and alumni support groups.
